Job Description

MedData has an excellent career opportunity available for a Hearing Representative to work in The Woodlands, TX.   





The purpose of this position is to provide advocacy work for individuals seeking disability benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSI/SSDI) programs. This administrative position assists in fully developing claims for the Social Security Administration.  



  • Represent claimants before ALJ’s; arguing cases for a favorable outcome
  • Write pre-hearing and post hearing briefs when necessary
  • Evaluate claims for validity
  • Write OTR’s assigned by Disability Manager
  • Meeting company productivity and performance standards
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude at all time
  • Other duties assigned by Disability Manager 


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified through SSA to represent claimants in front of the administrative law judge
  • Knowledge of the five-step sequential evaluation process.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of case hearings/briefs
  • Customer service (quality of service and dealing with complex situations)
  • Basic understanding of entire federal/state disability application and appeal process
  • Strong computer skills, including data entry, database systems, web-based applications, utilizing multiple programs simultaneously, and working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to summarize and explain complicated processes and paperwork, and disseminate tasks and expectations in group and individual settings
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking, evaluation, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of SSA medical listings, POMS, and SSA grids
  • Must be willing and able to work after normal business working hours when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel minimum 50%.
