Job Description

MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as a Claims Rep- Out of State to work in an office setting located in Draper, UT. The schedule for this FT role is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm



The purpose of this position is to investigate, facilitate and coordinate benefits for Medicaid and Medicare insurance policies.



  • Facilitate billing processes and securing necessary documentation
  • Maintain case notation and update all applicable systems
  • Contact and work directly with patients, employers, and insurance carriers
  • Monitor status of each case while communicating effectively with multiple parties
  • Identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Coordinate with appropriate client personnel to ensure appropriate filing guidelines are met for reimbursement
  • Maintain and update proper account documentation
  • Research and identify patient insurance coverage and plan details
  • Obtain bills and medical records from medical providers and send them to insurance companies for processing
  • Verify information obtained from patients and medical providers regarding insurance coverage with insurance companies for accuracy
  • Sort and process incoming mail and outgoing requests for necessary documentation for claims processing
  • Perform manual data entry of patient accounts and or claim forms.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Working knowledge of ICD9, CPT codes, and HCPCS preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Required computer skills: must have experience with data entry and word processing, be capable of operating routine office equipment, possess a working knowledge of MS Office applications, and understand how to navigate through web-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following highly preferred: Medicaid, State & Federal Regulations
