    Job Description

    MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as a Claims Representative - Appeals to work in an office setting located in Draper, Utah. The schedule for this Full Time role is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.   

     

    POSITION OVERVIEW

     

    The purpose of this position is to process documentation and mail for the Billing and Appeals Department. It is the primary responsibility of the claims representative to review and distribute mail and other documents accurately and timely. This individual will also be ensuring that correspondence is transmitted timely.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Sort and distribute mail and office supplies throughout the department including interoffice mail, couriers and overnight mail
    • Send letters/claims to appropriate parties
    • Submit mail tracking numbers in software program for tracking purposes
    • Deliver mail and printing projects throughout site
    • Establish and maintain quality controls to ensure work accuracy
    • Maintain office machines by clearing paper jams, cleaning of glass, toner replacement, stocking paper and general cleanliness of work space
    • Upload documentation into software program
    • Request documentation—such as invoices or medical records—from hospitals 

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    •  High School Diploma or GED
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to speak professionally with patients and insurance companies
    • Proactively resolve issues
    • Ability to organize and set priorities according to situation all demands
    • Working knowledge of computer functions including the internet and computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn in-house computer applications.
    • Related experience in document management field or in a related area is preferred
