    Job Description

     

    MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as an Payroll Assistant to work in The Woodlands, TX. The schedule for this Full Time role is Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5:00 PM. 

     

    Responsible for the preparation and disbursement of payroll in a multi-state environment using ADP Payroll Service and ADP time and attendance systems. The Payroll Assistant will also administer and enroll employees in the company sponsored 401(k) plan, as well as updating 401(k) data into plan website, maintaining forms, presentations and summary plan descriptions. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to apply payroll principles and procedures related to state and federal labor laws to appropriately calculate pay.
    • Monitors system updates for changes in work and residency locations to ensure correct jurisdiction and municipalities are appropriately set up.
    • Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies
    • Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings.
    • Analyzes and processes confidential payroll information in the production of payroll checks while maintaining confidentiality and judgement in safeguarding the procurement of information for audits.
    • Applies knowledge of wage garnishment processing and laws associated with the different types of wage withholding orders received including research and resolution.
    • Researches and resolves payroll inquiries and discrepancies timely.
    • Processes on-demand payments as needed.
    • Reconciles year-end W2s and produces W2Cs when required.
    • Maintains a variety of payroll information, files and records to provide up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
    • Completes other projects and special assignments as requested by supervisor and/or Senior Management.
    • Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters.
    • Maintains and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Prepares/updates reports/spreadsheets as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities. 

    • 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
    • Self-Motivated individual who takes ownership of his/her tasks, work load and goals, seeing them through to a timely completion. 
    • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
    • Possess a high level of integrity – must show good judgment and confidentiality at all times
    • Dependable and highly detailed individual with strong organizational skills
    • Read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently
