    Job Description

    MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as a Temporary Authorization Coordinator to work in a Call Center located in Anaheim, CA. The schedule for this full time role is Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pm. This is a temporary position set to last approximately 4-6 weeks.



    The job is to prepare and submit authorization requests (TAR/SAR) to Medi-Cal, and to follow-up these requests until they are approved or until final disposition.




    • Posting of referred accounts into PAT and initiating the TAR process on these accts
    • Verify eligibility, member benefits, authorization requirements and service dates of TAR referrals
    • Manage TAR dashboard inventory to review status of medical records needed for TAR submission
    • Pull/assemble medical records from various hospital systems and upload them to PAT as TAR attachment
    • Prepare and submit or resubmit the TAR/SAR online or in paper form
    • Identify hospital delays or TAR issues to the department manager
    • Check TAR/SAR status online, document and upload TAR/SAR approvals in PAT, and update the hospital system with the approval information
    • Review and resubmit deferred TARs
    • Document denied TARs and forward to TAR Manager for review and determination
    • Assist in the preparation of TAR reports
    • Closely communicate and coordinate with the client hospitals with respect to their TAR accts
    • Respond to other tasks assigned by the department manager




    • High school graduate
    • At least 1 year clerical experience in a healthcare setting
    • Read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently
    • Keyboarding skills, at least 35 wpm
    • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Dependable and highly detailed individual
    • Willingness to learn new systems and functions
    • High commitment to customer service to our internal and external clients
    • Possess a high level of integrity – must show good judgment and confidentiality at all times
    • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
