    Job Description

    MedData has an excellent career opportunity available as a Claims Rep - Appeals to work in an office setting located in Draper, UT. The schedule for this full time role is Monday- Friday 8am- 4pm.  

     

    This is a temporary full time position lasting approximately 3 months. 

     

    POSITION OVERVIEW: 

    The UPD Claims Representative is responsible for investigating claims, facilitation and appealing multiple insurance claims. Reaching out to payors and patients to assist with the coordination of benefits process.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      

    • Reviews and researches insurance claims to determine possible payment sources.
    • Coordinates with appropriate payors and/or patients to ensure accurate documentation is submitted for reimbursement.
    • Requests appropriate information, both verbally and written, from appropriate parties to ensure proper claim disposition. 
    • Maintains and updates proper account documents in multiple systems 
    • Performing aggressive follow up on unresolved claims and facilitates payment from appropriate payers 
    • Makes written or verbal appeals to payers on denied claims. 
    • Ensure that appropriate billing guidelines and standards are met based on payor and/or state
    • Ability to meet account expectations within allotted timeframe
    • Responsible for obtaining claim status and gathering supporting documentation to submit appeals

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS  

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Some college coursework preferred
    • Proven ability to be assertive in order to proactively resolve issues. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be able to speak professionally with patient’s and insurances
    • Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize tasks
